Black Rifle Depot Shipping Policy

At Black Rifle Depot, we aim to dispatch orders within 1–2 business days on average.

Please note that processing and delivery times may be extended during peak shopping periods, high order volume, carrier delays, severe weather, or other circumstances beyond our control.

Free Shipping on Orders over $175

We offer free shipping on orders over $175 within the contiguous United States. For all orders eligible for free shipping, the carrier choice will be at our discretion.

Upgraded shipping options are available at checkout. Please note that expedited services such as Next Day, 2-Day, and 3-Day shipping apply to transit time only and do not include order processing time. Unless otherwise specified at checkout, transit times are based on business days only and do not include weekends or holidays.

Address Precision and Undeliverable Orders

It is the buyer’s responsibility to ensure that all shipping details are entered correctly and in full during the checkout process. If a package is dispatched before we can process a requested address update and results in a carrier-issued correction or a “Return to Sender” (RTS) status, the customer will be held liable for any related service charges.

Associated costs include, but are not limited to:

  • Correction Fees: Charges levied by the carrier for modifying a destination mid-transit.

  • Return Logistics: The cost of shipping the item back to our facility.

  • Re-delivery: Expenses incurred to ship the order a second time to the correct location.

Please note that these expenses may be subtracted from any potential refund or must be settled in full before the item is reshipped. Once an order is officially within the carrier’s possession, we are unable to guarantee delivery timelines or recover original shipping costs.

Signature Tracking

For orders over $200, we may require signature tracking to ensure security. If you prefer not to use this service, you can opt out in your order notes. However, please note that opting out means Black Rifle Depot cannot replace any lost or stolen items.

Additional Shipping Fees

Shipments to regions outside the contiguous United States, such as Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and Guam, will incur additional charges. 

If Your Package Is Marked as Delivered But Is Missing

Contact us within 7 days of the delivery date to initiate a claim with the carrier.

  • USPS Priority Mail: Claim must be filed within 15 days of the delivery date and no later than 60 days.
  • UPS/FedEx: Claims can be filed immediately.

Please note that we can only proceed with replacements, refunds, or providing store credit after the claim has been resolved. If multiple orders are reported missing despite being marked “delivered,” we may ask for an alternative delivery address for any future or replacement orders.

Damaged/Missing Order Contents

Keep all packaging materials—bubble mailer, box, packing materials, and packing slip. Including photos in your initial claim email will expedite the claims process. Please retain all items from your order, even if they are damaged or missing some contents, as disposing of them may void potential refunds, replacements, or credits. Photos of the packing slip will aid in our internal investigation.

If your order arrives in a damaged box, the carrier may require an inspection, which could involve a carrier driver inspecting the package at your location or taking the box to a carrier facility. The specific details of the inspection will be clarified once the claim is submitted.

Tracking Delays

Shipping delays can occur due to various factors, including holidays. If your package has not moved for 14 business days, contact us to discuss a replacement or refund. “No Movement” is determined based on the last update provided by the carrier’s tracking status.

Ammunition Shipping Notice

Ammunition may only be shipped to the lower 48 contiguous states. We cannot make international shipments, nor can they be delivered to a PO Box or via USPS.

Primers require a hazmat fee and shipping charge. They will ship with a mandatory signature for delivery, and cannot ship to Alaska or Hawaii. These cannot be held at carrier facilities and will be returned to the sender if you are not available. Should this happen, the customer will be responsible for a second hazmat fee and any shipping charges incurred for a reshipment. Any refunds issued will not include the associated hazmat and shipping fees.

  • Connecticut: ID and one of the following: Long Gun eligibility certificate, Pistol/Revolver eligibility certificate, Permit to Sell Pistol/Revolver, Permit to Carry Pistol/Revolver 
  • Massachusetts: ID and one of the following: License to Carry, Firearms Identification Card (FID) 
  • Illinois: ID and Firearm Owners Identification Card (Includes Chicago; ammunition transfer ban overturned in 2014; many vendors still avoid shipping there; plenty of space in the market). The address on the FOID must match the shipping address on the ID/Driver’s License and the order.
  • New Jersey: ID and Permit to Carry a Handgun or Permit to Purchase a Handgun (NO HOLLOW POINT HANDGUN ROUNDS, exceptions being if the tip is filled like Hornady Critical Defense) 
  • Rhode Island: ID and Pistol/Revolver Safety Certificate or License to Carry.

California Shipping Restrictions

California ID Verification (AB‑1263) — Effective Jan 1, 2026

  • Certain products we sell require identity and address verification for California residents under state law. Orders for these items may be placed online, but we must verify the purchaser’s identity and confirm that the shipping address matches the information on the purchaser’s identification before shipment.
