The Faxon Match Series 18″ Gunner .223 Wylde Barrel combines lightweight handling with precision-focused construction for AR-15 builds designed for range use, competition, training, or general-purpose shooting. Its Gunner profile places more material toward the rear of the barrel while reducing weight forward of the gas block, helping create a more balanced rifle without sacrificing durability.
Machined from 416R stainless steel, the barrel uses 5R button rifling, a 1:8 twist, and a .223 Wylde chamber. This chamber design supports both .223 Remington and 5.56 NATO ammunition while maintaining geometry intended for improved accuracy.
Salt bath nitride treatment is applied inside and out for added wear and corrosion resistance. The rifle-length gas system promotes smooth operation, while the .625-inch gas block journal helps keep overall weight down. A nickel-Teflon-coated M4 barrel extension adds lubricity and corrosion resistance.
