Kynshot Short Stroke AR-9MM Hydraulic Recoil Buffer
The KynSHOT RB5020SS Short Stroke Hydraulic Recoil Buffer is designed specifically for competition-focused 9mm pistol-caliber carbines. Developed in collaboration with Blitzkrieg Components, it uses additional length and weight to shorten bolt travel while providing hydraulic recoil damping for smoother cycling and faster sight recovery.
At 5.81 inches overall and 5.3 inches compressed, the RB5020SS reduces bolt travel by approximately 1.3 inches when used in a standard AR-15 carbine buffer tube. When installed in an AR-10/A5 carbine receiver extension, it reduces bolt travel by approximately 0.5 inches, with additional stroke reduction possible through the use of compatible spacers.
The hydraulic system is tuned for lighter 9mm competition ammunition and is designed to reduce felt recoil, bolt speed, bolt bounce, optic vibration, and sight movement. Its 17-4 stainless steel construction and Mil-Spec hydraulic fluids and seals provide durability for demanding competition use.

Compatibility Note
In a standard AR-15 carbine buffer tube, the RB5020SS shortens bolt travel by approximately 1.3 inches. KynSHOT notes that a modified bolt may be required in this configuration to ensure proper trigger reset.
For unmodified bolts, KynSHOT recommends using an A5 buffer tube. In an AR-10/A5 carbine buffer tube, the buffer shortens bolt travel by approximately 0.5 inches.
The RB5020SS is also compatible with PCCs using A1 or A2 fixed rifle-length stocks with approximately 9.5 inches of internal receiver-extension depth.
